Be patient B1G football fans: your time is coming!
Though most major conferences and teams have already hit the ground running on the college football field, the B1G will be idle for two more weeks. The start date remains October 23-24 for the B1G with every team chomping at the bit to get things rolling.

While the B1G has not had a chance to show what it can do on the field yet, it is always fun to see where teams are projected to be in relation to the other teams already in action. One system that is particularly forward-facing in trying to project teams is the SP+ system developed by ESPN’s Bill Connelly.
Even without playing a game to this point, Ohio State remains locked into the No. 1 spot on the SP+ system with Penn State and Wisconsin also landing within the top 10 on the SP+ system. With two weeks to go before the conference gets rolling, here is where every B1G team lands on the SP+ rankings:
- 1. Ohio State
- 6. Penn State
- 7. Wisconsin
- 18. Minnesota
- 19. Michigan
- 27. Iowa
- 31. Nebraska
- 32. Indiana
- 49. Purdue
- 50. Michigan State
- 53. Northwestern
- 62. Illinois
- 85. Maryland
- 110. Rutgers
