Versatile Nebraska star Wan’Dale Robinson focusing on one position

Freshman Wan’Dale Robinson wore many hats in Nebraska’s offense last season. His versatility was used as a receiver, a running back and as a return man. This year, though, the sophomore will be focusing his attention on one position.
Thursday, Nebraska running backs coach Ryan Held said that Robinson will be focusing his efforts on slot receiver for the 2020 season and will not be used as a running back this fall.
Nebraska will have a little more depth at the running back position than in the past. The Huskers have Dedrick Mills penciled into the No. 1 spot, with Marvin Scott, Sevion Morrison and Rahmir Johnson all having the potential to back him up. That should allow Robinson to hone his craft in the slot.
Last year, Robinson was responsible for 340 yards and 3 touchdowns on 88 carries for the Huskers. As a receiver, he totaled 453 yards and 2 touchdowns on 40 receptions.
Robinson also fielded 11 kickoffs for 236 yards.
Entering the 2020 season, Nebraska has more weapons at the receiver and running back positions than it has had in some time. Though the Huskers are relatively young in those spots, there’s a sense that the offense will function much better than in years past.
Nebraska does have a tough task at hand from the opening kickoff, traveling to Columbus to take on Ohio State.
