Iowa’s depth chart is out.

On Thursday, Iowa released its preseason media guide for the 2020 season, complete with a look at the current depth chart. The release comes just about two weeks from when the Hawkeyes are scheduled to open the season against Purdue on Oct. 24.

The most notable, and perhaps most important, observation from the depth chart is that Spencer Petras will start the year as Iowa’s quarterback. He had been the favorite to win the job, replacing three-year starter Nate Stanley.

Here’s a look at Iowa’s depth chart as it currently stands:

Iowa finished the 2019 season with a 10-3 record, which included a victory over USC in the Holiday Bowl. The Hawkeyes will still be one of the favorites in the B1G West to compete for a division title this fall.

A kickoff time for the season opener against Purdue has not been announced.
