Watching college football ‘torture’ for Ryan Day without Ohio State being able to play yet

In a little over a week, the wait will be over. Ohio State, as well as the rest of the B1G, will be back on the field to start the 2020 season on October 24. Ryan Day and is team are thrilled that they’ll fine be playing again.
As for the last six weeks of watching college football on television, Day doesn’t have very fond memories of seeing those games without having the opportunity to be on the sidelines.
“Most of it’s been torture,” Day told reporters on Tuesday, according to Dan Hope of Eleven Warriors. “You accept it and you focus on getting the guys better because you’re 11 days away now.”
The situation could’ve been much worse for Day and everyone else in the B1G. The conference initially decided to postpone the season until spring, but reversed course in September and will now play a nine-game, conference-only schedule.
By rejoining in fall, the B1G can be part of the College Football Playoff conversation.
So, as awful as it’s been to just sit back and watch games through the first several weeks of the season, there’s now something to look forward to for Day and his team. The Buckeyes get things started against Nebraska on Oct. 24.
