Ohio State OL the latest to lose black stripe during fall camp

Another Buckeye has shed his black stripe.

Wednesday evening, freshman offensive center Luke Wypler became the latest Ohio State player to officially be called a Buckeye. The official Twitter account of Ohio State football made the announcement following practice.

He was listed as the No. 2 overall center in the 2020 recruiting class.

Wypler is a 6-foot-2, 285-pound offensive center and was a member of Ohio State’s 2020 recruiting class. He is a native of Montvale, New Jersey and was a 4-star prospect at the high school level.

Per 247Sports, Wypler ranked as the No. 108 overall player in the 2020 recruiting class. He was also listed as the second-best player out of his home state and joined a Buckeyes class that sat atop the B1G and ranked fifth nationally.

Ohio State is inching closer to its season opener, playing Nebraska in Columbus to begin the 2020 campaign. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. ET with the game being aired on FOX.
