On Saturday, Nebraska will be looking to secure its first victory over Ohio State since 2011 — and the Huskers seem to know what type of challenge that will be.
“Justin Fields, their offensive line, running backs, they don’t beat themselves,” Nebraska linebacker Collin Miller told reporters on Monday. “They do what they gotta do. Everyone’s doing their job.”
The Cornhuskers have lost their last five meetings with the Buckeyes, including a 48-7 drubbing in Lincoln last season. Two years ago in Columbus, Scott Frost’s squad nearly pulled off the upset in a 36-31 defeat.
Limiting Fields’ production will likely be one of the biggest factors in keeping the game within reach for the Huskers. Fields threw for three touchdowns and ran for another in last season’s matchup.
“It’s no secret, they’re a great team, year in and year out,” Nebraska cornerback Dicaprio Bootle added on Monday. “They’re not going to show up to the game and beat themselves.”

For the Huskers, they’ll need a better performance out of quarterback Adrian Martinez, who was officially named the starter by Frost on Monday. Last season, Martinez finished the day completing just 8-of-17 passes for 47 yards and 3 interceptions.
Nebraska is a 26-point underdog according to BetMGM.
Kickoff is slated for 12 p.m. ET on Saturday in Columbus and will be televised on FOX.
