Maryland is undergoing a lot right now.

Obviously the COVID-19 situation is still here. That hasn’t left. And Mike Locksley is entering Year 2 at Maryland in what has been an interesting offseason, to say the least.

But, it’s not only that. He’s injected plenty of new talented players into his program, too. The Terrapins may not be seen as a juggernaut in the B1G East division. However, if you look at the team’s talent on the offensive side of the ball, you would be fooled into thinking they were among the favorites to win its division.

Sports Betting in Big Ten Country

Likely coming in the following months, Maryland sportsbooks are almost here. You heard it right. Maryland is joining many of the other Big Ten states with live and legal online sports betting.

Four-star players here, five-stars there. There’s loads of talent. And one of those new talented faces is Alabama transfer quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa.

On Tuesday morning, Maryland revealed its depth chart ahead of its Week 1 matchup against Northwestern.

Here’s a look at it:

As mentioned, Tagovailoa isn’t necessarily the starter. He’s in a battle with redshirt freshman Lance LeGendre. LeGendre has talent, too. And Maryland doesn’t have a starting quarterback named at this point. The dreaded “OR” was used here.

We don’t know when the starter will be announced. It could be tomorrow. Or, it could be five minutes before game time. Or, Locksley truly doesn’t know and there could be a platoon system in the works.

Regardless, Maryland takes on Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 24 at Ryan Field in Evanston, Ill.
