Illinois reveals game day threads for road opener vs. Wisconsin

In just a few hours, Illinois will be taking the field for the first B1G game of the season. The Fighting Illini open the year with a trip to Madison, taking on No. 14 Wisconsin.
Hours before kickoff, Illinois revealed the uniform combination it will sport for Friday night’s B1G opener. It’s going with the “Stormtrooper” look.
That’s right, Illinois will be going with a white helmet, white jersey and white pants for the road opener against Wisconsin. It’s a look the program often refers to as the “Stormtrooper” combination. The Illinois football equipment Twitter account shared the threads:

Earlier this week, Illinois announced it would wear a special all-black “Block I” helmet decal for Friday’s game, as well. The goal is to promote social justice awareness.
Kickoff between the Fighting Illini and Badgers is set for 8 p.m. ET. The game will air on Big Ten Network.
