We’ve known it was coming, but it doesn’t make the scene any less the surreal. Seeing an empty Camp Randall Stadium for the B1G season opener between Illinois and No. 14 Wisconsin is just weird.

Illinois and Wisconsin are the first two teams to take the field from the B1G in 2020. The Friday night game serves as the opener for the conference, followed by a six-game slate that follows on Saturday.

All stadiums will look like Camp Randall does on Friday night. Here’s a look from Madison:

The B1G made the decision to prohibit fans from attending games during the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Wisconsin isn’t the only school affected, as all 14 will be restricted on attendance.

The B1G is home to some of the largest stadiums with the highest capacities in all of college football. It’s going to be strange seeing so many massive venues sit mostly empty all season long.
