With no mascots allowed, Ohio State finds creative way for Brutus to attend Saturday’s season opener

Not only will the 100,000-plus fans who normally fill the Horseshoe for each Ohio State game not be in attendance this season, neither will the mascots.
Well, the folks in Columbus figured out a way to get Brutus Buckeye in on the action as Ohio State opens the season against Nebraska today.
While the Buckeyes and Cornhuskers face off in a fanless stadium, Brutus will be watching on from behind the end zone.

Brutus has become a well-known part of Ohio State football. The buckeye nut began appearing at Buckeye events back in 1965 and is regularly seen during games.
Between homages to mascots and cutouts of fans, Big Ten programs are continuing to get more and more creative when it comes to incorporating some of the things college football fans are used to seeing when watching games each Saturday.
