Michigan State will be without at least one offensive lineman for the season opener vs Rutgers.

Over the past few seasons, the Spartans have seemingly battled a non-stop string of injuries along the offensive line. Unfortunately, they will be without one lineman to start the season, though the reason behind the absence is unclear.

According to Chris Solari with the Detroit Free Press, redshirt freshman Devontae Dobbs is not suited up for Saturday’s season opener. Dobbs appeared in four games in 2019 in order to preserve his redshirt, including one start against Rutgers. He is likely expected to be a regular contributor on the line this season.
