Ohio State’s top WR heads to locker room after taking brutal hit

Ohio State standout junior wide receiver Chris Olave left Saturday’s season-opener against the Nebraska Cornhuskers after taking a brutal hit from redshirt senior safety Deontai Williams.

Tino Bovenzi of Spectrum News 1 Ohio provided video of Olave heading to the medical tent with the athletic training staff.

After exiting the medical tent, the San Marcos, California product briefly stood on the sideline, without his helmet, before heading to the locker room for further evaluation, as Tim May, formerly of the Columbus Dispatch, shared.
Olave is being led to the locker room for further evaluation. It appeared he was hit in the head on that play.

Hauling in 49 passes in 2019, Olave emerged as classmate Justin Fields’ go-to target, leading the team in both receiving yards (849) and touchdown receptions (12).
Prior to his exit on Saturday, he had caught six passes for 102 yards, marking the second time in his career he had surpassed the 100-yard mark in a game.
In the fourth quarter, Nebraska at Ohio State is airing on FOX.
