It’s not been a pleasant start to Maryland’s season and that’s putting it lightly.
In their opening game against Northwestern, they are getting blown out 30-3 at halftime and have looked lifeless the entire time.
Taulia Tagovailoa, the younger brother of Tua Tagovailoa, got his first start for Maryland but was only 10/18 for 62 yards with two interceptions in the first half for the Terps. In terms of rushing, the team overall had eight carries for just 24 yards in that half.
Maryland fans don’t seem to be too pleased with head coach Mike Locksley:
So here's the conundrum with Maryland: Locksley is not a good head coach. At all. This game is a further illustration of that. But he has been a damn good recruiter in that area and can keep some of that top talent in the DMV area there in College Park.

@TerpsFootball fire Mike Locksley. Completely clueless. Disgrace to the university.

Locksley can recruit…but his team has zero fundamentals when it comes to coaching. Everything is by physical talent and none by coaching details and discipline.

Why are you punting on 4th and 1 Locksley???

Never forget:
Matt Canada took Maryland to 5-7 – and a near-upset of Ohio State – during the most tumultuous time period that program has ever seen, and the Terps effectively said "Nah, we're good" when it came time to find a permanent coach.
Incredible.

People forget Mike Locksley is 6-40 as a head coach. 6-40. At least he can recruit, right?

It doesn’t get any easier for Maryland going forward. They host Minnesota next Friday and then travel to State College to play Penn State the following Saturday.
