Former Michigan receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones made the play of the day in the NFL.

With his Browns trailing 34-31 with just 16 seconds to go, quarterback Baker Mayfield lofted the ball in the air for Peoples-Jones with the game on the line.

This was the result:

Here’s another angle:

Prior to this game, Peoples-Jones didn’t even have a catch in the NFL — let alone a touchdown. His only previous action this season came on special teams.

This was a crucial win for the Browns, who are now 5-2 on the season. Mayfield completed 22 of his final 23 pass attempts, including three to Peoples-Jones. This catch now becomes a massive moment in Cleveland’s season as they look to compete in the AFC North and potentially secure a wildcard berth.

In college, Peoples-Jones caught 103 passes for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns over three seasons. He was also the Wolverines’ primary punt returner for much of that time, scoring two touchdowns along the way.

Peoples-Jones will be in action again next week as the Browns host the Raiders.
