When Ohio State travels to State College on Saturday to take on Penn State, the Buckeyes will have history on their side.

It’s been 16 games since the Buckeyes have dropped a contest against an AP ranked B1G team, including league title games. In addition, Ohio State hasn’t lost a road game against an AP ranked team in nine games. Their league run is the longest streak in the AP poll era, which started in 1936.

The Nittany Lions will be anxious to put their season opening loss to Indiana behind them. After several mental errors and costly mistakes, the Hoosiers came away on top after a controversial call that ended the game in the first overtime series.

As a result, previously unranked Indiana jumped ahead of the Nittany Lions to No. 17 spot in the AP poll, while Penn State slid from No. 8 to No. 18.

The Buckeyes came away from opening Saturday with the opposite result. Following their 52-17 victory over Nebraska they jumped two spots to No. 3.
