Before Ohio State wide receiver Chris Olave was knocked out of the game against Nebraska with a hit to the head, he and fellow receiver Garrett Wilson were enjoying a breakout game in the slot for the Buckeyes.

Wilson is hoping the pair can continue to click during Saturday’s game with Penn State. The sophomore wide out expects them to, based on some of his conversations with Olave during the week, but head injuries are unpredictable from day to day.

When Ohio State head coach Ryan Day was asked about Olave’s status he said the availability report should be released tomorrow [Friday], but “He’s had a good strong week of practice.”

“We’d just move some things around, like we always do,” Day said of OSU’s plan if Olave cannot play. That’s where depth comes into play. We’ll see how the week goes.”

Wilson and Olave were dominant targets during the Buckeyes win over the Huskers, combining for a total of 233 yard on 23 receptions. Olave left the game and did not return to the field after a hit to the helmet that result in a fumble in the final minute of the third quarter.

Ohio State and Penn State will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
