Purdue is 2-0, and they’re pretty happy about it!
It’s been 13 years since that happened, and 17 years since they’ve had that record in the B1G.
The Boilermakers held off a late surge from Illinois to come away from Champaign with a 31-24 victory over the Illini.
Much of the success for Purdue on the day can be credited to wide receiver David Bell, who caught nine passes for one TD and 122 yards, and quarterback Aidan O’Connell, who passed for two TDs and 376 yards on 35 attempts. On the ground, running back Zander Horvath and his 100 yards on the ground were another key factor in the Boilermakers’ win.
As to be expected, the locker room mood reflected the mood from the field.
