It wasn’t enough for Northwestern to defeat Iowa 21-20 on the Hawkeyes’ own turf.

They had to claim Kinnick Stadium as their own, too.

Northwestern’s defense was completely dominant in this game, holding Iowa to just over four yards per play. The Wildcats forced three interceptions from Iowa QB Spencer Petras. Even when Petras wasn’t turning it over, he wasn’t efficient. He averaged just 4.32 yards per attempt on 50 passes.

After turning it over twice early on and falling behind 17-0, the Wildcats were able to mount a comeback and take the lead by the mid-way point of the third quarter. They finished the game on a 21-3 run.

Northwestern is set to face Nebraska at home in Week 3 of Big Ten play.
