Joel Klatt lauds Ohio State QB Justin Fields: ‘He’s on a mission’

Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields is starting to raise some eyebrows.
Fields went 28-of-34 for 318 yards and four touchdowns on the road against Penn State on Saturday night. That performance prompted a response from lead FOX analyst Joel Klatt:

Fields is now 48-for-55 with six touchdown passes and zero interceptions on the season. His passer efficiency rating is 214, which would shatter the all-time record of 202 set by Joe Burrow last season.
The Buckeyes seem like prime candidates to run the table. They only have two ranked teams remaining on their schedule — Indiana and Michigan — and both those games are at home. It’s possible Ohio State will be a double-digit favorite in every game until the Big Ten Championship Game.
It also seems likely that Fields will be able to force his way into the Heisman Trophy conversation. He entered his second game at No. 3 in the Heisman odds behind Trevor Lawrence and Mac Jones. Lawrence has COVID-19 and will miss a second-straight game vs. Notre Dame this week.
