The Georgia football program had a bit of a scare Saturday night when the team learned that defensive back Richard LeCounte had been injured in a motorcycle accident.

On Sunday, however, all involved received some good news that LeCounte had been treated at a local hospital and did not have any life-threatening injuries.

LeCounte and the Bulldogs had played early on Saturday, defeating Kentucky 14-3. The Georgia defensive back played a large part in that game as he finished with 13 tackles, three pass breakups and a fumble recovery.

Reports coming out about LeCounte seem to be positive. He is in “alert and stable” condition despite the accident being serious. He remains in the hospital receiving additional care.

At this point, there is no timeline for LeCounte’s return. That does make sense since the accident just happened and LeCounte isn’t even out of the hospital yet.

The next game he would be able to play in is Saturday’s showdown against Florida. It’s a game that may decide who wins the SEC East.
