We’ve officially made it through two weeks of the Big Ten season. While there have been some crazy moments and fun memories, it’s time to look ahead to Week 3.

At first glance, it feels as if there are a number of matchups that will say a lot about who plays in the Big Ten Championship Game. Vegas is already looking at these matchups and we have some early betting lines out and ready to go.

Here is what Vegas Insider has for lines via Circa Sports.

  • Michigan -2 vs. Indiana
  • Ohio State -37 vs. Rutgers
  • Penn State -21 vs. Maryland
  • Minnesota -9 vs. Illinois
  • Iowa -9 vs. Michigan State
  • Wisconsin -6 vs. Purdue
  • Northwestern -3 vs. Nebraska

The numbers that stick out at first glance are Iowa as nine-point favorites against Michigan State and Penn State being 21-point favorites against Maryland.

The Spartans are coming off a big win and could have a let down playing against a hungry Iowa team. But that just seems like a big number.

As for the Nittany Lion-Terps matchup, this just seems like an easy cover for Maryland. But it’s tough to really have a feel for how good Maryland actually is since its defense has given up at least 40 points in each game but put up 45 points against Minnesota last week.

Like any week of college football, there certainly will be a lot of movement in these lines right up until kickoff.
