ESPN’s Football Power Index has updated its Big Ten Championship odds.

It shouldn’t be a surprise that Ohio State finds itself on top with a 74.8 percent chance to win the conference. The Buckeyes only have two remaining games vs. ranked opponents, and both are at home.

Buckeyes quarterback Justin Fields has been excellent through two games, tossing nearly as many touchdowns (5) as incompletions (6).

Wisconsin is a clear No. 2 option to win the Big Ten. The Badgers appear likely to be the Big Ten West champions, assuming they qualify. Wisconsin is in the midst of a COVID-19 outbreak and will only play a maximum of seven regular season games.

Per Big Ten rules, Wisconsin would have to play at least six games to qualify for a division title. If the Badgers aren’t able to play vs. Purdue in Week 3, they’ll lose their margin for error.

The only other team with at least a 2 percent chance to win the Big Ten is Northwestern. The Wildcats have been very impressive so far this season, defeating Maryland 43-3 in Week 1 and Iowa 21-20 in Week 2. Northwestern’s defense is the strength of the team, but Peyton Ramsey has been solid at quarterback as well.
