Drew Brees re-takes first place on NFL’s all-time TD list

Drew Brees and Tom Brady are in a season-long battle to see who will end the year with the top spot on the NFL’s all-time touchdown passing leaderboard.

Brady entered the week in the No. 1 spot with a 559 to 558 advantage over Brees. But the former Purdue star overtook the No. 1 ranking with a pair of TD passes against the Bears.

Brees has been a bit more efficient, reaching this total in 281 career starts while Brady has 290. Peyton Manning is No. 3 on the all-time passing touchdowns list with 539.

Brady and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers are playing on Monday Night Football vs. the New York Giants, so it’s possible the record will be re-broken again in less than 24 hours. It will be interesting to see who finishes the NFL season with the top mark in this battle.
