During Saturday’s game, Indiana lost a major piece of its defense when defensive back Jamar Johnson was ejected for punching an opponent. Because it came so early in the contest, it appeared to be a big loss for the Hoosiers.

Yes, that was still the case, but thankfully for Johnson and his teammates, the defense still succeeded as the Hoosiers went into Ann Arbor and steamrolled Michigan.

It was a selfish move by Johnson that could’ve resulted in a loss for IU. Following the game, Johnson was quick to acknowledge his wrongdoing and how it could’ve affected Indiana’s chances at a 3-0 start.

Heading into that game, Johnson has been a key piece with his 15 tackles and an interception.

Though I’m sure there are some coaches who weren’t too happy with Johnson in that moment, I bet they will be thrilled to see him back on the field against Michigan State this coming Saturday.
