Johnson was the No. 76 overall player in the class of 2021, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s the No. 14 point guard and the No. 2 overall player in the state of Ohio per the same rankings.
Listed at 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, Johnson has a solid frame for the point guard position. He’s from Garfield Heights High School in Cleveland, Ohio.
Johnson will likely become the best player in the 2020 recruiting class for Ohio State. The Buckeyes only landed two high school commitments prior to Johnson and both were 3-star prospects.
Ohio State is the No. 10 team in the country in KenPom.com’s preseason rankings. Only Wisconsin (No. 8) has a higher reseason ranking in the Big Ten.
As of now, Ohio State’s season is expected to tip off on Dec. 2 against Morehead State.
