Following a weekend of upheaval around the Big Ten, Purdue and head coach Jeff Brohm return to the field this weekend for just their third game of the season.
Purdue sat out this past weekend after their scheduled opponent, Wisconsin, endured a rash of positive tests for COVID-19.
At 2-0, Purdue hosts a tough Northwestern on Saturday. After a lackluster start, the Wildcats turned on the jets in the second half this past week to beat Nebraska. With the win, Northwestern is 3-0 and No. 23 in the polls.
It will be just the third game of the season for Purdue, who impressed in beating Iowa to start the year followed by a win at Illinois.
Quarterback Aidan O’Connell, a junior, is coming off an impressive performance against Illinois where he was 29-of-35 for 371 yards with tow touchdowns.
Here’s what Brohm had to say ahead of Saturday’s return to the field:
Brohm said Cam Craig is out for the season.

Brohm on slot WRs: Been a work in progress. Worked a lot of guys at the spot. Amad Anderson moved from outside to slot. Want Sheffield to see more action.

Brohm: Have seen Peyton Ramsey a lot. Coach's son. Have to account for him. Can make plays with his feet.

Brohm on Aidan O'Connell, who beat NU last year: Has great poise and composure. Won't make ton of plays with his feet. Need balance and big plays. We have to be able to run ball to help him.

Brohm on Horvath: He has to carry the load for us. Needs to run downhill. Minimize spin moves and dancing. Focus on ball security. Worked hard at it.
