Maryland needed help at the receiver position.

On Tuesday, that’s exactly what it got.

The Terps announced the addition of New Mexico State graduate transfer Teldrick Morgan. The Hanover, Md. native will be eligible immediately for the Terps in 2016.

“Teldrick brings a great deal to our program and we’re excited that he’s a part of our family,” Maryland coach D.J. Durkin said in a release. “It’s always great to bring a local kid back home, and on top of that he’s very skilled and brings a wealth of experience to our receivers unit.”

The 6-1 wideout has 120 catches, 1,454 yards and 11 touchdowns in his three seasons at NMSU. Morgan’s biggest season came in his sophomore year when he hauled in 75 catches for 905 yards and seven touchdowns.

The former Biletnikoff Award Watch List candidate will add an immediate presence to a group that finished 13th in the B1G and 109th nationally in passing. He also can add depth in the return game and potentially take some of the workload off special teams extraordinaire Will Likely.
