Report: Former college football receiver dies at 27 after battling rare form of cancer

Former Central Michigan wide receiver Titus Davis has died at the age of 27 after battling a rare form of cancer. Tony Paul of The Detroit News reported the news on Wednesday morning.
According to MLive.com, Davis was diagnosed with Renal Medullary Carcinoma, “a rare and aggressive form of kidney cancer.” The news of his diagnosis was reported in July.
Former CMU star receiver Titus Davis, who was the first FBS player ever with eight or more receiving TDs in four different seasons, died today at the age of 27. He had battled a rare cancer.
He's the older brother of Titans receiver Corey Davis.

Davis played four seasons at Central Michigan and was a member of the football team from 2011-14. He played in 45 career games, totaling 204 receptions for 3,700 yards and 37 touchdowns during his time with the Chippewas.
Per Paul, Davis was the first FBS player to have 8 or more receiving touchdowns in four different seasons. He was also the career receiving leader at Central Michigan.
Davis was a member of five different NFL practice squads between 2015-17. He is also the brother of former Western Michigan and current Tennessee Titans wide receiver Corey Davis.
