Ohio State’s big senior tight end Luke Farrell believes his quarterback is good enough to win the Heisman Trophy and has his vote to count on—that is if he had one to give.

After complementing the Buckeyes’ offensive coaching staff, stating their schematics were better than anyone he had seen, Farrell said he believes superstar quarterback Justin Fields is “deserving of” the trophy, but that individual honors were not on the teams mind during the practice week.

“But we’re just focused on how do we win Saturday.”

Fields has indeed been sensational this season. The junior quarterback from Georgia is throwing for just over 300 yards per game with 11 touchdowns against zero interceptions. His completion percentage is an eye-popping 87-percent to go along with a 222 quarterback rating. Fields has looked like the best player on every field he’s played on to this point.

Ohio State is on the road this Saturday to play the 2-1 Maryland Terrapins, a suddenly dangerous looking team with Taulia Tagovailoa running the offense and coming off of a dominant 35-19 road beating of the Penn State Nittany Lions. The game kicks off Saturday at 3:30 pm ET on the Big Ten Network.
