In it’s first game as a Top 10 team in over 50 years, Indiana is completely dominating Michigan State

In the first test, Indiana has looked every bit the part of a top-10 team.
After knocking off Michigan in Week 3, Tom Allen’s squad moved to 3-0 in 2020. It has already been a remarkable run, but coaches are always cognizant of trying to prevent a letdown performance.
That letdown has definitely not come against Michigan State, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. Indiana is currently pitching a shutout at the break after stifling the Michigan State offense.
Through 30 minutes of game time, the Spartans have managed just three first downs and 82 total yards of offense, 38 of which came on one long run by backup quarterback Payton Thorne. Thorne was in the game after two interceptions thrown by Rocky Lombardi in the first half against the Hoosiers defense. Indiana also forced and recovered a fumble.
Offensively, Michael Penix Jr. has thrown two interceptions, but he has responded each time. Penix has particularly hooked up with Ty Fryfogle a lot with Fryfogle posting nine catches for 178 yards and two touchdowns in the first half.
Entering the break, Indiana is carrying a 24-0 lead over Michigan State. That is definitely a good sign that the Hoosiers were not looking forward to a Week 5 showdown with Ohio State.
Hopefully Allen and Indiana lockdown the second half and move to 4-0 before turning attention to the Buckeyes. So far, all signs are pointing up.
