Brad Hawkins will wait another year to make his Big House debut.
The four-star receiver had been hoping to get NCAA clearance to begin his college career with his fellow 2016 signees.
But he announced on Friday that he’ll be taking the prep school route before coming to Michigan:
I will be balling at Suffield Academy next year for a prep year 💯😎

The Camden, NJ native was one of Michigan’s six 2016 recruits from the Garden State. He was rated the No. 7 player in NJ and the No. 55 receiver overall.
Hawkins was the only one of Michigan’s non-early enrollees who wasn’t listed in Michigan’s online directory a couple of weeks ago. He had hoped to join the Wolverines for summer workouts in the middle of July.
The Wolverines still have three 2016 receivers, including four-star wideout Dylan Crawford.
Michigan will kick off fall camp on Aug. 8.
