The ripple effect of Jerry Sandusky’s abuse reached Ohio State.

Greg Schiano, who was hired as the Buckeyes’ new defensive coordinator back in December, is facing allegations for the role he played in Penn State’s cover-up of Sandusky in the early 1990s.

According to recently unsealed court documents, former Penn State player and coach Mike McQueary testified that in addition to Joe Paterno, other assistant coaches knew of Sandusky’s abuse.

In one case, McQueary stated that Schiano witnessed Sandusky abusing a boy while he was an assistant at Penn State. According to McQueary’s deposition, Schiano told former Penn State defensive coordinator and current UCLA defensive coordinator Tom Bradley that he witnessed Sandusky “doing something to a boy in the shower” and that he came into his office “as white as a ghost.”

Bradley looked even worse in McQueary’s deposition. He reportedly “wasn’t shocked” when McQueary confronted him about witnessing Sandusky abusing a boy in the shower.

Both Bradley and Schiano are obviously still in prominent roles as the details of this case are being made public. It remains to be seen what this will mean for Schiano, who was at Penn State from 1990-95.

The Buckeyes haven’t released a comment on the matter.
