After missing time last season with a shoulder injury, the prospects for Indiana linebacker Thomas Allen finishing this season doesn’t look good.

The son of Hoosiers coach Tom Allen was injured during Saturday’s game with Michigan State and required the cart to leave the field. Thomas Allen had recorded a forced fumble and had two tackles before leaving the game. The redshirt junior has eight tackles on the season.

Indiana went on to defeat Michigan State, 24-0 and improved to 4-0 on the season.

“Just like always, he’s going to fight through this,” Tom Allen said. “He’ll find a way to overcome it and come back and play again one day. But yeah, it’s tough to see that from your son.”

When asked about the injury potentially ending his son’s season, Allen said, “I’m not that optimistic at this point.”
