Elite hoops prospect, 4-star G for 2022 keeps 3 B1G schools on his Top 8 list

A four-star high school basketball player out of West Virginia, the no. 57 overall prospect in the class of 2022, has three B1G schools listed in his final eight, though the time to make the final decision remains some time off, according to an article at 247 Sports.
Isaac McNeely, a 6-foot-4 combination guard from Poca High School, has advanced Illinois, Indiana, and Purdue to his next round of cuts and had good things to say about each program. McNeely is the 7th ranked overall combination guard in his class.
Of Illinois, McNeely said: “They’re showing a lot of interest and making me a priority. I’ve done several zoom meetings with them and have really liked what I’ve seen. They had the biggest win improvement in the country from 2019 to the 2020 season, so they’re continuing to get better and better.”
Regarding Indiana, McNeely was high on several aspects of the school.
“The style of play is a great fit for me. I’ve been building a great relationship with several of the coaches since the spring. I got to a game last year, and the Hoosier fan base and the atmosphere of Assembly Hall are amazing.”
And with Purdue, he zeroed in on the consistency under long-time head coach Matt Painter.
“Coach Painter is a great coach. He’s been at Purdue for years and has built a great program. They’ve been recruiting me very well for a while now. It’s a great fit for me.”
Along with the Big Ten schools, McNeely liked hometown West Virginia, along with Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Louisville to round out his list.
McNeely plans to sign during the early period next year but wants to take several official visits before making the call. Hopefully one of these B1G schools is able to lure him to the conference.
