The Iowa Hawkeyes have had a good two weeks, but the season didn’t start that way.
With dominating wins over Minnesota and Michigan State, the Hawkeyes defense has bounced back from a rough pair of opening games in 2020, with losses to Purdue and Northwestern.
Iowa allowed just a touchdown each to the Spartans and Gophers, and are heading into their game this Saturday with Penn State a slight favorite, according to ESPN’s FPI prediction model.
The following two weeks appear to be an easier path.
After hosting Nebraska, the Hawkeyes travel to Illinois where they have an even larger anticipated advantage. But from there the fun ends, as the season-closing matchup with No. 10 Wisconsin leaves Iowa with just a slim chance of finishing the B1G regular season adding to their win column.
ESPN’s FPI is predicting the Hawkeyes finish out with the following:
- Sat, Nov 21 @ Penn State – 55.6% chance of victory
- Fri, Nov 27 vs Nebraska – 72.9% chance of victory
- Sat, Dec 5 @ Illinois – 88.4% chance of victory
- Sat, Dec 12 vs #10 Wisconsin – 15.6% chance of victory
