While some of the top teams weren’t in action this week, with Alabama, Ohio State, and Clemson not playing, there was plenty of action to see on the field in Week 11 in college football.
Most of the talk centered around Wisconsin making their return to the field after a two-week hiatus to take it to Michigan in Ann Arbor, while Indiana continued to roll with a big win over Michigan State.
Looking across the country at all the action, ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit released his top players, coaches, and teams of the week on Twitter Monday afternoon, and the B1G made a splash.
In Herbstreit’s top performer’s list, Indiana wide receiver Ty Fryfogle was the lone B1G player on the list. The senior set career-highs with 11 receptions for 200 yards, for just the seventh 200-yard game in program history. Fyfogle found the endzone twice, including a career-long 65 yarder.

A pair of B1G teams made the list of Herbstreit’s top teams of the week.
After taking precautions due to a rise in COVID cases, Wisconsin had to cancel games in back-to-back weeks, while ceasing football activities to try and get the team’s outbreak under control.
Well, the two-week break had little impact on the team while on the field, as they dominated Michigan 49-11, in their return to competition. The Badgers held true to form, even forcing a turnover on Michigan’s opening drive, just as it did in the season opener against Illinois.
No surprise, Indiana was the other team making the list. Indiana is 4-0 for the first time since 1987 after defeating Michigan State, 24-0, on Saturday in East Lansing, marking the first IU victory in Spartan Stadium since 2001.
The Hoosier defense was relentless from the very beginning, tallying four takeaways with four sacks while limiting the Spartans offense to just 191 total yards. Sophomore cornerback Tiawan Mullen hauled in a pair of interceptions and fifth-year defensive tackle Jerome Johnson recorded a pair of sacks.
Indiana quarterback Michael Penix Jr. struggled early with accuracy, but overcame two interceptions in the first half, completing 25-of-38 passes for 320 passing yards and two touchdowns.

Three of Herbstreit’s six coach picks are from the B1G, with Paul Chryst and Jim Leonhard from Wisconsin taking the second spot.
Indiana’s Defensive Coordinator Kane Wommack was tabbed as fourth, while Iowa’s Kirk Ferentz slipped into the sixth spot on the list.
Ferentz brought the Floyd of Rosedale trophy back to Iowa City for a sixth straight year after the Hawkeyes’ 35-7 win Friday night against Minnesota.
The win is Iowa’s sixth in a row over their neighbor to the north, marking the longest such streak for the Hawkeyes in the 86 years these schools have been playing for the treasured bronze swine trophy.
