Urban Meyer discusses continual slide of Wolverines: ‘It’s too late’ to worry about scheme

Jim Harbaugh has ventured into unusual territory.
After getting blown out by a huge margin in the loss to Wisconsin, Michigan has fallen to 1-3 on the season. That puts the Wolverines in a precarious position of potentially posting a losing season for the first time in Harbaugh’s tenure.
In his entire college coaching career, Harbaugh only has two losing seasons across three different stops. Those two seasons came during his first years at Stanford with Michigan winning at least eight games every year under Harbaugh before this one.
On Monday, Urban Meyer touched on the struggles once again during a segment with BTN. Meyer knows what it feels like to be sent reeling as a coach, and the only thing left to focus on moving forward is the fundamentals:
“We’ve all been there as a coach, you’ve been hit in the jaw, and all of a sudden, where do you go? Football’s older than all of us and the fundamentals are the only things that get you through tough times,” said Mayer. “You can’t really start going crazy about scheme, it’s too late for that.”
Urban Meyer agrees with Jim Harbaugh’s assessment of Michigan.

On paper, Michigan gets a great opportunity to bounce back into the win column in Week 5. The Wolverines will hit the road for a matchup against Rutgers.
Saturday’s kickoff is set for 7:30 pm EST on BTN.
