Ohio State’s Justin Fields tops PFF’s list of highest-graded QBs

Completing nearly 87 percent of his pass attempts (72-of-83) for 908 yards and 11 touchdowns, all without tossing an interception, junior Justin Fields has been the driving force behind the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes’ 3-0 start and has established himself as a serious Heisman Trophy contender.
Pro Football Focus (PFF) College unveiled their five highest-graded quarterbacks of the 2020 season on Tuesday, and Fields, who earned a 93.9, topped their list.

Alabama Crimson Tide redshirt junior Mac Jones was right on Fields’ heels, registering a 93.8.
Seeing his first extended action in 2019 when Tua Tagovailoa was sidelined with a hip injury, Jones, a Florida native, has taken his game to another level this fall, throwing for 2,196 yards, 16 scores and just two interceptions through six games.
BYU Cougars junior Zach Wilson (93.7), Oklahoma Sooners redshirt freshman Spencer Rattler (92.2) and Florida Gators redshirt senior Kyle Trask (91.4) rounded out the publication’s top-five.
Fields and the Buckeyes, who had their November 14 game against Maryland canceled because of positive coronavirus (COVID-19) tests within the Terrapins’ program, have what projects to be their toughest test of the season yet on Saturday, welcoming in the No. 9 Indiana Hoosiers (4-0) at 12 p.m. ET on FOX.
