Going into tomorrow’s matchup against Ohio State, Indiana’s Michael Penix Jr. is getting a lot of national praise, and rightfully so. He’s been one of the main reasons why Indiana is off to a 4-0 start.

In a video earlier today, Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt analyzed some third down plays of Penix Jr. last week against Michigan State and how he’s just been so effective:

“This is what makes him so good right now,” Klatt said of his ability to make plays on third down. “Even when the defense is succeeding on first and second down, and they get him to an obvious passing situation, Penix is still playing calm, reading the defense appropriately, really smart, understanding the disguises, and still diagnosing what coverages the opponent is in. And then, he’s executing really well. He’s hitting that last step in his drop and the ball is out, it’s on time, and it’s on target.”

Penix Jr. is going to have to continue to read defenses well and execute to a high level if the Hoosiers are to knock off Ohio State tomorrow.

Kickoff for that game will be at Noon ET on FOX.
