Garrett Wilson is closing in on a record held by one of the best wide receivers in Ohio State history. It is rarified air that the Ohio State sophomore wide receiver is nearing.

With six catches for 142 receiving yards and two touchdowns midway through the third quarter, Wilson has four straight games with at least 100 receiving yards. That is approaching the record of five-straight games with 100-receiving yards set by Cris Carter.

An eight-time Pro Bowl selection and Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee, Carter is one of the most revered players in Buckeyes history. It is still mind-boggling to think that Carter left Ohio State with 168 career receptions, then the most in program history, and still managed to only be a fourth round pick of the 1987 NFL Draft.

It is a rather significant roll of games for Wilson and a prominent step forward in his development. Last year as a freshman, Wilson topped triple-digit receiving yards just once when he had 118 yards on three receptions in a 56-27 win at Michigan.
