It’s not a good day to be a Blackshirt.
Nebraska fell 41-23 to Illinois at home on Saturday, but it wasn’t nearly that close. Illinois out-gained Nebraska 428-297 and averaged seven yards per play through three quarters before garbage time started.
This is a significant disappointment for a Nebraska team that was coming off a win over Penn State last week.
Huskers quarterback Luke McCaffrey threw three interceptions and fumbled in the loss. He did rush for 131 yards and two touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough to keep Nebraska competitive.
Here’s what fans had to say after the loss:
That seals the deal, I am no longer a Husker fan. I am tired of this poverty organization screwing us over. I have decided that I will take my fandom to Ohio State where they actually compete for championships.

Program trending in the wrong direction. This is a new low. Pathetic and embarrassing. But most of all – very sad.

Hoping the best for Collin.
Aside from that, this was an abysmal performance. I don’t understand how we can be so unprepared, undisciplined, and unable to master even the fundamentals of football. I hope we get better soon, because this is hard to watch.#GBRalways
