Iowa is putting on a show against Penn State.

The Hawkeyes dominated the Nittany Lions on both sides of the ball in the first half to take a 24-7 lead to the break.

Defensively, that effort was lead by linebacker Nick Niemann.

Niemann finished the half with a stunning 13 tackles — beating his career high for a full game of 10.

Niemann’s previous career-high of 10 tackles was achieved twice — against Wisconsin in 2018 and against Northwestern earlier this season.

He entered this game with 32 total tackles and one tackle for loss on the season.

Offensively, Iowa’s running backs stole the show in the first half. Tyler Goodson (1) and Mekhi Sargent (2) combined for three touchdown runs in the first half.

Iowa has won its last two games by a combined score of 84-14.

Penn State has won six consecutive games in this series. Iowa hasn’t won a game at State College since 2009 when Joe Paterno was still the Nittany Lions’ head coach.
