‘We got what we need in that locker room to win’: Scott Frost still confident Nebraska heading in right direction

Just a week ago, the Nebraska defense was enough to give the Huskers a 30-23 win over Penn State. With Illinois coming to Lincoln winless since Red Grange played for the Illini, Scott Frost’s team was confident they’d come away with a win.

They didn’t.

When the final whistle blew the Illini would head back to Champaign with a 41-23 victory, and the Huskers were left with a slew of questions.

The fourth game of Frost’s third season will go down as one of the worst losses in Nebraska program history, and the embarrassing defeat has Husker fans debating their belief in Frost. The Huskers program is coming off three straight losing seasons, and had a chance to win consecutive B1G games on Saturday.

Frost believes they have “plenty of talent” on his team to be competitive in every game, “we got what we need in that locker room to win. We need to bring it together,” said Frost.

The Huskers will need to pull things together quickly, as they face an Iowa team that, since losing to Northwestern by just one point, has dominated Michigan State, Minnesota and Penn State in their last three games.

Kickoff between the Huskers and the Hawkeyes is set for 6:30PM, Friday, Nov. 27.
