Chris Autman-Bell, a junior wide receiver for the Minnesota Golden Gophers, was named to the offensive squad. Autman-Bell caught five balls for 129 yards (25.8 per reception) for the Gophers in a 34-31 home victory over Purdue that improved Minnesota’s record to 2-3 on the season.
Jonathan Cooper, a graduate defensive end for Ohio State, was named to the defensive team. Cooper had a tackle, a sack, and a handful of hurries for the Buckeyes during a tight 42-35 victory Saturday over Indiana in a matchup of top 10 teams. The Buckeyes moved to 4-0 after the win with their championship aspirations fully intact.
No other individual B1G players made the first team after what was another interesting round of games in the late-to-start Great Lakes league. The big surprise here is that Northwestern, after forcing five turnovers and limiting Wisconsin to seven points, did not land a single defender on the Team of the Week.
