It wasn’t pretty, but Michigan finally got win No. 2 this past Saturday.
It was a roller coaster of emotions, but the Wolverines managed to pull out an overtime victory on the road at Rutgers.
Now that Michigan is coming off that all-important win, the Wolverines get to host a historically bad Penn State team that has yet to win a game in 2020.
While the Nittany Lions might be proving to be historically bad, Michigan certainly doesn’t have too much of a high ground to stand on. Head coach Jim Harbaugh appears to know that and expressed that sentiment during his regularly scheduled Monday press conference. He also referenced the craziness that was his team’s win in Piscataway.
Jim Harbaugh — "Both teams played their hearts out, it went back and forth…one heckuva game. Really proud of the guys on our team, they kept battling…" #GoBlue

Harbaugh: We want to do everything we can to win the week and that starts today. We want to have strong meetings, practices and individual drills. We're trying to win at everything we can to give ourselves the best chance of success on Saturday.

During the press conference, Harbaugh received plenty of questions about his own players, including running back Hassan Haskins. He showed his ability against Rutgers as he ran for 109 yards and a touchdown in the win.
Jim Harbaugh — on Hassan Haskins — "He was running the ball and making yards where there were no yards to be gained, he played great…lots of tough runs…very impressive…" #GoBlue

Jim Harbaugh credits Hassan Haskins for getting yards “where there were no yards to be made.”
“He played great,” he said. “I thought the other backs did as well.”

While Haskins was good on Saturday, the kicking was not. Michigan missed three field goals.
Jim Harbaugh on Michigan's kicking woes: "The whole operation — getting that snap, hold and kick — it's like a battery. They have to go together. … We want to keep striving to get better at that and put the ball through the uprights."

Harbaugh says that Quinn Nordin will remain Michigan's starting kicker, despite missing three field goals against Rutgers, while Jake Moody will continue doing kickoffs

Something that has now become a weekly talker is who will be under center for Michigan each Saturday.
Harbaugh: We're not going to make any dramatic announcements, per usual [regarding the quarterback competition].

Jim Harbaugh on if Cade McNamara is the starter: "The way we have this all set up here, the timing of everything, we talk to the media before the players arrive to the meetings. Not going to make any dramatic announcements, as per usual, at this press conference."

Here are some updates on some other Michigan players.
Harbaugh: Zach Charbonnet is so well-rounded in running the ball, his pass protection, blocking, attention to detail, ball security, catching out of the backfield.

Jim Harbaugh — on Donovan Jeter — "He put in a really strong winter conditioning cycle…a steady climb…he really stepped it up the last 11 months." #GoBlue

Harbaugh: Zak Zinter has been really good. As a freshman, playing at this level of football has been outstanding. He's been good at the point of contact, blocks and pulls. He's continuing to improve on a daily and weekly basis.

Jim Harbaugh — on Cornelius Johnson — "There's been continuous progress for him…practicing well….he has a big catch range, a tough competitor…" #GoBlue
