PHOTOS: Michigan releases Air Jordan football jerseys

Michigan’s introduction to the Air Jordan era on Sunday night made quite the splash. The event in downtown Ann Arbor appropriately ushered in the beginning of the new apparel deal.
The only thing missing was the football jerseys. Now, however, those are here, too.
Michigan unveiled the first Air Jordan football jerseys, which will be the program’s new look in 2016:

The unveiling was on Tuesday in front of an invitation-only crowd in Detroit on Tuesday. The jerseys will be available for purchase beginning on Aug. 6 at MDen.com.
Jim Harbaugh said that he didn’t want to change the uniforms, but that he’d be open to possible alternates in the future. He also added that Michigan will wear white pants every game. And the helmets feature a new matte finish.
The Wolverines signed a groundbreaking $173 million deal with Nike last year, which also made the Wolverines the first football program to ever partner with Air Jordan. All Michigan football apparel will have the Jumpman logo on it, including the cleats.
Michael Jordan will actually kick off Michigan’s highly anticipated 2016 season as the honorary captain.
The debut of the Jumpman apparel might have a little something to do with that.
