Herbstreit includes two B1G squads on list of top performing teams from Week 12

Two Big Ten teams made Kirk Herbstreit’s best teams for last week.
It isn’t a surprise to see Northwestern, No. 11 in the AP Top 25 Poll, listed as one of ‘My Top Performing Teams of Week 12’ by the ESPN analyst. The Wildcats, ranked No. 19 last Saturday, beat then No. 10 Wisconsin to soar up the polls.
They now check-in at No. 8 in the recently released College Football Playoff ranking as well. Northwestern is schedule to play 1-3 Michigan State this weekend.

Also included on the weekly Herbstreit list is Illinois, who had a pretty thorough performance in beating Nebraska on the road on Saturday. For Illinois, now 2-3 on the year, the 41-23 win over the Cornhuskers is a second-straight victory after a rough start to the season.
It might be difficult to keep the momentum going as Illinois faces no. 3 Ohio State on Saturday.
