The Nebraska basketball season is off to a hot start.
In the season opener against McNeese State on Wednesday afternoon, the Huskers hit the century mark in the 102-55 victory. It was the first time the team has hit triple digits since the 2018-19 campaign. Nebraska starts the college basketball year with a 1-0 record.
Six players reached double figures for Nebraska in the victory. Leading the team in scoring was Kobe Webster, who had 15 points off the bench on 5-of-7 shooting. Dalano Blanton, Trey McGowans and Teddy Allen all scored 14 points, Lat Mayen had 13 and Shamiel Stevenson pitched in 12.

Nebraska shot 50% from the floor for the day, including 10-of-24 from behind the 3-point line. The Huskers were also impressive with the turnover battle, winning that 27 to 10.
The Huskers owned a 50-28 advantage at the half and were even more impressive in the final 20 minutes. Fred Hoiberg’s bunch won the 2nd half 52-27.
Nebraska is scheduled to play Nevada in its second game.
