The Ohio State-Illinois game may potentially be in jeopardy this weekend due to some Buckeyes players testing positive for COVID-19, as per Dave Biddle of 247Sports.

Dan Hope of Eleven Warriors is reporting that the case count of positive tests is currently in the single digits.

If this game were to be officially canceled, it would be the second Buckeyes game that has been canceled due to COVID-19.

Their game against Maryland on November 14th had to be canceled due to positive cases within the Terrapins program at the time.

This potential cancellation could also make it dangerously close for Ohio State in terms of being eligible for the Big Ten Championship game. Any team that plays in the championship game will need to have played in at least six Big Ten conference games as per Big Ten rules.

As things currently stand, the game will be played as scheduled on Saturday. Stay tuned for more updates.
