The postseason options for B1G teams just got a bit smaller.
On Friday, the New Era Pinstripe Bowl announced that it will be canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The game is traditionally played at Yankee Stadium and usually pits an ACC opponent against a B1G team.
Fortunately, the plan is to resume the bowl game in 2021:

The other bit of bad news is this now makes three bowl games with B1G tie-ins to get canceled in 2020. The others are the Quick Lane Bowl and the Redbox Bowl.
Hopefully this does not have a big impact on the conference’s ability to put teams into the postseason.
The B1G carried a four-game winning streak in the Pinstripe Bowl into 2020. Michigan State is the most recent winner with Northwestern, Iowa, and Wisconsin also notching wins in the bowl since 2016.
Will this be the last bowl to fold up shop, or will more cancellations be forced as a result of the pandemic?
